FASHION SKETCHING
My art supplies
Lately I have been constantly asked about the tools I use in my work. So I decided to create a single guide on what and how I use. I buy most of the materials at local online (or offline) stores. But I will try to find for you the links to major stores so that you can buy them or see examples

1. Pencils
  • I've had a lot of different pencils, mechanical and wooden, I can and like to draw with all of them. Now I have these

    Mechanical pencil - Pentel Graphgear
    Pencil - Tombow
  • From mechanical pencils, I always prefer and recommend the thinner options like 0.35mm. Indeed, looots of my illustrations were drawn with it. They need to be refilled with a mechanical pencil lead
  • Hardness. Whichever pencil I draw with, I choose a harder lead. Mostly from HB to 2H. The gradation from softness to hardness is: HB > F > H > 2H etc
  • I almost never use soft pencils (B and softer) because they smudge on the paper and spreads the dirt. I don't need this effect in my style
2. Erasers
  • 1. First, I always have a thin eraser handy, which helps to remove small details from the picture without affecting the neighboring areas

    pencil eraser - Faber Castell
mechanical pencil eraser - Mono Zero
  • 2. Secondly, I always have a soft eraser. Lately I've been in love with the mono zero eraser. It absorbs the graphite very delicately, doesn't ruin the paper, but removes even greasy lines well

    soft eraser - Mono Zero
  • 3. Third, I have a kneaded eraser. I use it if I want to make the sketch less overloaded and remove unnecessary dirt

    kneaded eraser - Faber Castle
3. Paper
  • Paper is a matter of taste. Personally, I like to draw on textured paper with a warm, yellowish hue
  • I try and use different sketchbooks. Here are some of them
4. Light pad
  • A light tablet is the coolest investment you can make when learning fashion sketching (or even when you're already a pro)

    Light Pad А4 Led
  • First of all, using a tablet you can quickly sketch a fashion idea without wasting time on building a figure from scratch
  • Second, you can use it to transfer your drawing onto watercolor paper and then paint it
5. Figure templates
  • I have a large number of figures that I created for personal use (and will keep adding the new ones). And I decided to share them with you 💖

    Download my figures
  • If I want to focus on a clothing design, I just take my prepared template, put it on my tablet, and immediately work out my garment with all the details
