There are many variations of hairstyles, but they can all be grouped into few types, which are all based on the same patterns

Find the upper 1/4 of the head. Mark the dash in the centre. Outline hair around the face

Draw the hair parting with 2 lines. They are smoothely rounded at the forehead. They flow into hair around the face. Erase the marking we don't already need

Draw a "tick" at the top (to show the volume of hair). Find the points behind the ears and draw the shape of hair. It's a bit widening on the sides

Draw several hair strands from the ears and shade from each side of hair parting

And he we are. In fact, this is already a finished hair style (the collected hair)

Print this sheet out and practice to draw this basic template. I prepaer 2 rows with it. Further we'll modify it and get differet hair styles

Now I'll show how to change this basic template and get 20+ options

The easier way is to add different elements such as hair strands or a high bun

Other hairstyles will fit into this scheme:
Basic shape > Shadow near the neck > Few strands from the ends

Long straight hair

Quest 2. Complete these hairstyle on the practice sheet

Now let's add volume to hair
1. Use the same template. Just widen it at the sides
2. Once the shape is ready, I erase the part of the basic template

Short Bob

Bob of a medium lenght

Same bob styled the opposite way

Wavy bob

Voluminous stratgh long hair

Voluminous long wavy hair

Quest 3. Complete the 2nd row with voluminous hairstyles

And now a little hack: we can get more as the same options just be shifting the hair parting to the right (1) or to the left (2)
